Alumni membership

Alumni members can register for library cards to use our Musashino/Ariake Libraries.

Eligibility

Alumni of the undergraduate school, Distance Learning Division, or those who completed a graduate course of Musashino University
Note: None-degree students are not considered to be "Alumni".

Steps to join

User registration → Issuance of a "Library Card" within the day → Start using library services

Registration

Complete the following documents and visit our desk by 30 minutes before closing.

  • One of the following documents to certify your graduation from the university or completion of the graduate school.
  • Identification showing your current address (valid driver's license, valid health insurance card or valid passport)must be presented at the circulation desk.
  • 2,000 yen certificate stamp for application (purchasable from the certificate stamp vending machines on campuses)
    Certificate stamp vending machines are not in operation on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and some specific days during summer, winter and spring vacations.
    You may pay 2,000 yen in cash at the library only when the certificate stamp vending machines are not in operation. Please pay the exact 2,000 yen, or the application is not acceptable as no change is prepared at the library.

Benefits and borrowing conditions

  • Read and photocopy (within the scope provided for in the Copyright Act) in the library
  • Check out up to 10 items for 14 days excluding reference books, recommended books, recommended books for Distance Learning Division, school textbooks and teacher's guides, journals, and audio-visual materials
    • [Check out]Bring books and show your library card at the circulation desk.
    • [Check in]Keep the due date. Use book drop to check in when libraries are closed.
      Borrowing and reservation privileges are suspended for users who have any overdue item for days it has been kept.
      Damage or loss of items should be compensated according to the regulation.

    Placing a hold is available via MyLibrary *. If an item is in other campus, it may be placed a hold.
    *Select English as the default language of the web browser to go to the English link.

Validity, renewal and reissuance of library card

[Validity]Library card is valid for three years from issurrance date. With the renewal procedure, card will be valid for another three years at no cost.

[Renewal]To renew library card, visit the circulation desk at the library with:

  • Current library card
  • Present identification showing your current address (driver's license, health insurance card or passport).

[Reissuance]To reissue library card, visit the circulation desk at the library with:

  • Present identification showing your current address (driver's license, health insurance card or passport).
  • 2,000 yen certificate stamp for application (purchasable from the certificate stamp vending machines on campuses) Certificate stamp vending machines are not in operation on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and some specific days during summer, winter and spring vacations. Card (for reading in the library only) is expired as of March 31st, 2012.
Please apply for registration including borrowing services.
